This test uses the 100 civics (history and government) questions and answers for the redesigned (new) naturalization test. Applicants who filed the Application for Naturalization, form N-4oo, on or after October 1, 2008, should study this list. The civics test is an oral test and the USCIS Officer will ask the applicant up to 10 of the 100 civics questions. An applicant must answer 6 out of 10 questions correctly to pass the civics portion of the naturalization test.
USCIS notes that there may be additional correct answers to the 100 civics questions,
but encourages applicants to respond to the civics question using the answers as indicated below.

This is a site designed to help you study for the New U.S. Naturalization test.
Use it to quiz yourself. To see if you got an answer right, scroll over the question and the answer will
pop up, like so:
1. What is the supreme law of the land?
the Constitution
To make studying easier, in cases where there are many similar answers, we have chosen one answer. For example, the question
"What is the name of the President of the United States now?" could be answered "Obama," or "Barack Obama."
We show the answer "Barack Obama," like so:
28. What is the name of the President of the United States now?
Barack Obama
In cases where there are more than one different answer, we have chosen one possible answer and then
listed alternative answers below, like so:
51. What are TWO rights of everyone living in the United States?
freedom of speech
(or: freedom of assembly, freedom to petition the government, freedom of worship, and the right to bear arms)
In those instances, you only need to memorize the top answer, but any answer on the list would be correct.
Some questions ask specific questions about your state; in those instances, links have been provided to direct you to where you can go to find the answer for your state.
